Morena Martinez, the veterinarian who joined The Vines Foundation’s Animal Welfare team in July, recently visited Instituto Pío X in Tunuyán to speak with students about responsible pet care, adoption and respect for animals. She brought a very special guest: her rescued 14-year-old dog.

The students listened closely and asked questions as Morena shared how her dog came into her life and found a safe home. She also talked about the work of animal shelters and what adoption can mean for an animal that needs a family.
Morena helped the students think about what caring for a pet involves: good food, fresh water, a safe place to rest, regular veterinary visits, vaccines and affection. To continue the conversation at home, she invited each child to draw a pet and show how they care for it. Students without pets could draw an animal they would like to care for and what it would need to be happy.
Thank you, Morena, and thank you to Instituto Pío X for opening its doors to us.
