Our work
The Vines Foundation carries out various initiatives aimed at creating positive change in the Uco Valley and advancing sustainable development goals. This includes funding community projects, educational programs, health initiatives and other efforts to improve the well being of the local community.
We are seeking to increase capacity and participation through engaging Vines owners and guests, community members and organizations, local businesses, and the municipal government to address the complex challenges facing Tunuyán’s residents.
Community Dining Programs
These programs provide meals and nutritional support to underserved individuals and families in the community, addressing food insecurity and promoting healthy eating habits.
Community Dining
The Foundation collaborates with soup kitchens catering to children in vulnerable situations, to assist them with their daily nutrition by providing meals for 3 or 4 days a week. This initiative aims to enhance their development, provide support, and ensure they have access to basic necessities for their growth and education, ultimately fostering healthy adults with opportunities for a better life.
By offering nutritious meals, we address the immediate need for sustenance, ensuring these children have access to essential nutrients crucial for their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our collaboration with these soup kitchens also provides a nurturing environment where children feel cared for and understood, offering vital emotional support crucial for their overall well being.
Finally, there is also an important educational component, as the children learn what a healthy and balanced meal looks like, as well as about new ingredients and their nutritional properties.
Dog Shelter
The dog shelter provides a safe and caring environment for stray or abandoned dogs, offering shelter, veterinary care and opportunities for adoption to give these animals a second chance at a loving home.
Animal Health
The implementation of a comprehensive program allows for the examination of each animal that enters the mobile veterinary spaying unit, enabling intervention in the first instance and also referral in the event of a presumptive diagnosis of a more complex disease.
Education Plan
Education on pet ownership and responsibility is crucial for ensuring the well-being of animals and fostering a compassionate and respectful community.. Here, we divide education on community responsibility into two stages: prior to acquiring a companion animal and afterward.
Responsible Pet Ownership Plan
Systematic, sustained, and improved implementation of all the points mentioned above results in the generation of responsible pet ownership, which improves the health and well being of the community and the animals and leads to a better quality of life. i

Implementation of a program for mass mobile sterilizations
This initiative involves a mobile veterinary clinic that travels to underserved areas to provide essential veterinary services, including spaying/neutering and preventive care for pets in need.
Community Gardens and Nurseries
These projects establish community gardens and nurseries to promote sustainable agriculture, environmental awareness, and community engagement, by providing residents with access to fresh produce and educational opportunities.
Gardens and Nurseries
We will establish community gardens promoted by the foundation and INTA (National Institute of Agricultural Technology), who will assist us with seeds and training for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the gardens. Given the vulnerability of the dining programs we support from the Foundation, Establishing gardens in these vulnerable areas is challenging, as they lack access to clean water and electricity. Therefore, the design will be tailored to each specific case with the assistance of INTA and considerations for each situation. The idea is to have them assist us with monitoring the gardens and their maintenance.
