Ten Adoptions, One Shared Effort

September brought a milestone we are very proud of: ten dogs left The Vines Refugio for homes of their own, our highest number of adoptions in a single month.

For us, an adoption is never just the moment a dog leaves the Refugio. It is the result of many people meeting somewhere along the way.

Our team can rescue a dog, care for them and give them the time they need to be ready for a home. But we cannot complete that story alone. It also takes people willing to share a post, foster when space is needed, tell someone about a dog they met — and eventually, a person or family ready to say, “this one is coming home with me.”

That is what happened ten times in September.

Some of those dogs had been waiting for months. Others found their families more quickly. Each story was different, but they all ended in the same place: with someone making room in their life for a dog who needed one.

There are still dogs waiting at the Refugio. And sometimes, helping them find a home starts with something as simple as introducing their story to one more person.
